I’m Alasdair Mackay – a business engineer helping founders and leadership teams turn successful businesses into scalable businesses.

Many successful businesses reach a point where growth becomes part of the problem. More people, more customers, more products and more moving parts can leave leadership teams spending their time firefighting rather than driving the business forward; and the result is a flattening growth trajectory and strategic goals that always seem to be just out of reach.

I take an engineer’s view of the complicated machine that a growing business is and work with its leaders to map out a clear growth strategy, build a robust structure to deliver it, and put in place practical systems to get everyone pulling in the same direction.

When we get it all right, it gets the executive team out of the engine room and back on the bridge where they belong. That growth trajectory re-asserts itself, those strategic goals become achievements rather than aspirations, and the business moves on from start-up to scale-up.
