ONLE Environment and Sustainability Policy
Purpose
Because ONLE operates fully online, our environmental footprint is already significantly lower than traditional networking that relies on travel, venues, and printed materials. But we don’t want to rest on that. This policy explains how we minimise impact today and commit to continuous improvement.
Our approach
Remote-first model: All ONLE events, meetings, and services take place online, avoiding the carbon emissions linked to travel and physical venues.
Digital sustainability: We choose efficient, cloud-based platforms and review our digital storage to avoid unnecessary “dark data” that wastes energy.
Suppliers and partners: Where external suppliers are needed, we prefer those who demonstrate sustainable practices and review them before committing.
Energy efficiency: As a remote-first organisation, our team works from home and is encouraged to use renewable energy where possible.
Continuous improvement: We monitor best practice in sustainable online operations and update our approach regularly.
Accountability
This policy is owned by ONLE’s Directors. All team members, partners, and pod owners are expected to support and uphold our sustainability commitments.
Review cadence
This policy will be reviewed annually or when laws or practices change.
