Show notes
Planning your business exit:
This month we talked about business exit strategy following our ONLE Talks education with Sean Goldsmith. It seems that the majority of us don’t have a current plan in place for leaving our business or how our everyday processes can continue in our absence. Don’t expect the plan to emerge- it can feel distant in the early days, but your business can trap you!

Kelly’s networking gem: Setting a goal for your networking
It’s important to put continuous effort into your primary reason for going networking. We see the value in putting relationships first because more often than not, business with inevitably come out of it. Book those 1-2-1 meetings and use your network to the best of your abilities. You must fully immerse yourself in the community in order to get what you want out of networking and make it worth your while.

Exit planning comments from the ONLE members:
Alex Willis: I’m going to will my business to my children

Tracey Shrimpton: I struggled with ‘Why’ until I realised the ‘Why’ needs to be about what the business enables you to do on a personal level.

Debra Levit: Tech and processes can be the key to getting you out of the biz.

Claudia Tinnirello: I started documenting my processes and realised that there was one crucial function no one but me could perform.

Denyse Whiller: “My plan is to become an MP”. The extent of her thought process currently is to get a cocker spaniel and go door knocking - vote for the cocker spaniel!

Conclusion: Having processes in place to allow your business to continue in your absence gives you the freedom necessary to drive further growth. It’s never too early to plan for the future!
